Herb Baumeister
Herb picked up guys at gay bars in Indianapolis and took them back to his
large estate. Once there, he'd kill them. Then he'd dispose of the
bodies by just leaving them in the woods behind his house. No burying at
all (which makes the title of the book "Where the Bodies are Buried" very
inappropriate) and once his child even found part of a skeleton.
Eventually after police got wise, he committed suicide. Additionally,
Baumeister is suspected of a string of murders along Interstate 70 bringing his
total to 16 victims.
