Arthur Bremer

21-year-old Arthur Herman Bremer attempted to assassinate presidential candidate George Wallace in Laurel, Maryland on May 15, 1972 at 4:00 p.m.  Three others were also wounded.  Wallace lived but was wheel-chair bound for the remainder of his life.

The site of the shooting was about fourteen miles northeast of Washington, DC at the Laurel Shopping Center at 352 Domer Avenue.  The shopping center is L-shaped.  The rally site was in front of the Equitable Trust Bank, which is located in the middle of the shopping center's parking lot.
