The Fromme / Good Knife Collection
Below are photos of a knife collection that has recently come on
the market. Here is how the owner describes them:
I am writing to let you know that myself and my partner
still have the knives taken from Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme after her arrest in
the President Ford assassination attempt. These are the real deal.
We are not claiming these knives to be the actual murder weapons, just knives
that were taken from Squeaky after her arrest. Clarence Slelson who was
a federal guard in Sacramento in 1976 was on the job when Judge Thomas J.
McBride ordered the knives sold. Clarence found out that the knives were
for sale and with help from friends in the federal building, he bought them
for two hundred dollars. All info is coming from Clarence, who was there
when all this happened. We have a signed sales document that goes with
the knives. Most have evidence tags. Over some thirty years, a couple
have fallen off but you can still see where they were stuck on. I
understand they have the same date as the tag on the gun taken from Squeaky
the day of her arrest. These knives are in original condition, the same
as when taken. I have pictures of Clarence taken now with the knives and
in 1976 when he worked in the Sacramento federal building where the trial took
place.
If anyone is interested in purchasing the set, please
contact me
and I'll put you in touch with the owner.
