Tex Watson has a parole hearing on October 10th, 2001.  Rather than just sit back and wait for the results, you can take action by writing to the parole board.

His full name is Charles Denton Watson.
His prison ID number is CDC B37999.

The address to write to is:

Board of Prison Terms
Mr. Dave Hepburn, Chairman
1515 K Street, Suite 600
Sacramento, CA 95814
Fax: (916) 445-5242

Letters must be received by September 19th, which is three weeks before the hearing.  If you plan to write, you must meet this deadline.

Most murderers walk free after only seven years.  Watson has been in for over 30, now.  I've been told that the California judicial system leans toward liberalism and the odds of the killers being released are better than ever.  If you don't want to see this happen, take action!  Write a letter.  Watson has a large group of supporters who will be writing on his behalf.  This is your chance to stand up for the victims and the people who loved them.

It is my understanding that Sharon's sister, Debra, is planning to attend the hearing and face the man who murdered her sister and unborn child along with too many others.  I think she'd appreciate your prayers, too.

Karen, a friend of Steven Parent, suggests the following:

"I always find it is best to write what is in your heart, be straight forward and to the point. They will read or at least look over and categorize all letters (pro or con). That is why there has to be a deadline for submission. The Board wants to know your reasoning, they want to know WHY you feel the way you do, that is what they are interested in. The first letter is always the hardest, because you are always thinking, "Am I conveying the message I want them to hear." I'm sure whatever you choose to write will be just fine. Please don't worry."

Once again, September 9 is the deadline that letters must be received.
