Gerard Theatrical Agency
8949 Sunset Blvd.

Thanks to Greg King (no, this isn't the author) for these photos of the former Gerard Theatrical Agency at 8949 Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.

According to Ed Sanders' book, Bobby Beausoleil met Jack Gerard, owner of the talent agency.  This company supposedly specialized in actors for porn movies along with topless dancers for clubs.  They also sold apparel to dancers.  Beausoleil went to work for Gerard and drove topless dancers to their jobs.  On March 23, 1969, he signed a songwriting contract with the agency.  Then he was given a key to the front door so he could use the recording equipment for a demo tape.

Family member Bill Vance had the idea of getting topless dancing jobs for some of the girls.  He and Joe, of the Straight Satans,  took a load of the girls to the agency where they were interviewed by a woman.  Jack Gerard then arrived and suggested silicone injections for some of the aspiring dancers.  It seems none actually received injections or jobs.

That Spring of 1969, Gregg Jakobson visited the Gerard Theatrical Agency twice to listen to Bobby's tapes.
